Te Wairua Pakiki VIP Pacific Tree - Manaiakalani Film Festival
In our senior block at St. Pius X Catholic School, we learnt all about our native environment. Specifically our 'Amazing Plants'. We spent a lot of time learning about our plants here in New Zealand and once we were experts in our native trees we jumped over to our Pacific island plants. The tree that stood out the most was the Coconut Tree.
Learn something new about this king of the pacific plants in our video below.

Cybersmart Challenge #6 - Tidy Drive
For our Cybersmart Challenge #6 we are learning to keep our Google drive tidy and up to date. It's important to always name and file our documents into the right places. For some of us this was a much easier job than others. If you have a few files that need tidied up you can follow the instrcutions on the slides below. Happy cleaning!

The Story of Rahitūtakahina and Tīarakurapakewai
In Te Wairua Pakiki we were remembering how to play the traditional Māori game Ki o Rahi. In order for us to learn this game properly we first had to learn of the legend that surrounds this game. First we were split into groups and given a video and a text about the Legend of Ki O Rahi. Then in our groups we each choose a section of the story to retell. Here are our activities and the video.

We made bookmarks!
In Te Wairua Pakiki 4 (TWP4) we do a lot of reading! So much reading in fact that we decided we all needed new bookmarks to help us keep our places in our books. We followed a really easy tutorial for the main shape of the book marks and then we enjoyed decorating and making them our own.
You can try too!
Here are some of our finished products.
