Caritas Keep it simple for Lent Action Plan - By Taniela

This week in class, we are talking about Lent. This year I'm giving up. Playing too
much, because I might get patellofemoral pain again.
Giving up lying, because it's disrespectful.
Stop polluting, It's bad for our environment.
Games you'll be addicted.

Prayer- I hope the weak, and the poor became the strong and the rich, and I hope the world would
have no virus-like coronavirus. I hope the world would become a peaceful place.
Amen.

Give- I got mad because Mrs Nees-Kairua said I had love notes in my pencil case,
but that was a joke, so I got over it and became happy.

Live-  I Had thoughts bad one and good ones. But always we would have a peek,
and a Truff a peek means when something good happens, and traffic means you
had something bad today, so all I did was say negative words and truthful words

So- while we were playing my friend Sony said I'm not good at soccer,
but I said keep trying you'll get great at it I use to be bad at soccer and rugby, but I kept
on trying and look at me now.

Find- today I search up on google where's the most displaced country it is in Syria, South
Sudan, Iraq, Pakistan, Sudan, and Nigeria so I prayed and said bless this country.

Create- every year on easter we make cards for old people in retirement some

of us wrote good stuff and bad stuff

Eastview Water Testing with Frazer - By Jabez

On Tuesday the 10th of March Frazer came to St Pius X so we could go see if our local
stream in Glen Innes is clean, clear, and to see if there is excellent, good, fair, or bad life at our stream.
When we got there we saw a statue, I think it was an entrance that they used to use a long time ago.
Anyway, he showed us a magnifying glass that detectives use when they are solving a mystery or a
murder. Then he showed us this tube with a magnet inside it, and there's another magnet, so you can
move the magnet in the tube and look through a hole at the bottom of the tube and water from the
stream there's water from the stream so when you move, the magnate you have to try to not lose sight
of it.

Then we lastly did an experiment on our water to see how much life/oxygen in our stream. There are
about seven small tubes that start from light blue and go to dark blue. Our water stopped at I think
number there, so it was a fair I wish it could be a lot better. What I would do to make our local stream
clean, bright and not polluted.

How much life do you think is in your stream?

Have you ever done an experiment in your local stream and why?

What would you do to make sure that your local stream is
healthy and has life in it?

Summary I would like to go back again one year later because of
I would like to see if there is a change of life.

Andy Warhol: Part 2 By Aisake

This term for art we are researching Andy Warhol and the origins of "Pop Art" and his use of
repetition. Today in class we are blogging about Andy Warhol and starting our own piece of art.
We first took a photo of ourselves on our netbooks and repeated it 5 more times. Next week we get to
start colouring ourselves in!

Ash Wednesday - By Zenith

Walt: Describe Lent as a time of spiritual growth and renewal for individual people and the Church community.

On Wednesday the 26th February, St Pius X Catholic School had a very important mass. We went to the Church for Ash Wednesday. There was a story about Jesus and how he travelled to a village for 34-days. Ash Wednesday is a Christian holy day of prayer and fasting. It is preceded by Shove Tuesday.

For lent I am going to give up being naughty and try my hardest to be nicer to people around me.

Welcome to our brand new school!

On Tuesday the 12 of November, we went into our new school. It was “amazing”  I wish I could have lived here, it was humongous it was 4 times bigger than my house, I was kinda freaking out of how amazing it looked. When we went inside it was full of colourful walls, it was like I was in a rainbow. We got to have a tour around the classroom they had a room that was almost fully soundproof. We got to have a tour around the whole school like we were visitors from a different country. We got to see into the office, staff room, printer the shower little kids room downstairs and the resource’s room, it was amazing after that we got to play cricket for kiwi sports, it was amazingly fun it was tiring. My whole team won every game except one because that team was quick and smart so were we but we were tired. Then we all went home after school.
